NYC LIFE UPDATE
Hey guys!! It’s been a minute! So sorry I haven’t been on my grind with blogging, life has gotten a little crazy! I have now lived in the New York City are for over 6 months… WHAT!?!? Seriously blows my mind... Here’s a little update on my life, some things that I’ve learned, and some people I’ve come across.
Probably some of the biggest news is that I am the official head coach at Orange Theory Fitness in Manhattan! This opportunity has honestly been one of the hugest developments since the move... It has allowed countless chances to continue my education as a personal trainer and fitness specialist. The individuals that I have been fortunate enough to both work with and coach since joining the Tri-State area OTF team have been seriously amazing. They all welcomed in some random kid from Texas with a big forehead, big personality, and even bigger dreams.
I now have a one bedroom apartment in Jersey City (20-minute train ride to Manhattan) and exclusively use public transportation! Which is super weird after driving myself everywhere for 6+ years. The diversity in the area is still something that blows my mind. Especially coming from Lubbock where there’s basically 3 different races. There is now like 1000. It’s amazing to be a part of.
Ok enough with the sentimental ish… on to real life. In case you didn’t know, living in New York and MAKING IT is effing HARD. There have been Many late nights and followed by early mornings, countless 15+ hour days, and seemingly never enough time to catch up with all that needs to be done... It’s expensive, crowded, and cold AF at the moment... So, you might ask what keeps someone here? Simple, it’s the greatest city in the world... I mean it, there is no where on earth that offers more opportunity for those that want more out of life.... One thing that I love about this city is that it tends to favor those who aren’t afraid to work their ass off.. That was a main priority when moving here, to not be outworked by ANYONE. So far, I believe that work ethic has showed, leading me to plenty of opportunities I would not get anywhere else. I’ve said it in previous blogs and I’ll say it again. If you value a comfortable life (nothing wrong with that), then NYC is NOT for you. Again, that’s not to bash anyone else’s life. I believe that happiness is the overall objective in life. So whatever makes an individual happy, I’m all for. However, for the ambitious, the thrill seekers, and the risk takers, this is the place for you.
It’s crazy living in a city filled with aspiring actors, models, dancers, singers, and entrepreneurs. Really puts a lot of things in perspective, especially coming from Lubbock, Texas. For me personally, the modeling has taken a backseat recently. The main reason being I want to really focus on growing Orange Theory, and touching as many lives possible through the fitness industry. I realize that my passion in life is dual sided. I have always enjoyed physical health and fitness, but I truly love helping others achieve their goals and feel better about themselves.
That’s my short update on life currently! I am really going to make this blog thing a priority going forward! Please message me with any topics you would like discussed!
