Focusing in the gym

With the new year in full swing there's a change in tide for gym goers.  The new year rush! Now I'm not here to bash any individuals that waited for the start of the new year to join a gym.  I think that its great people are pursuing fitness goals!! However, if you're like me, we people watch.  Which can be extremely detrimental to our precious gym time.  When I say people watch I simply mean that I observe new people in the gym and watch them workout.  I'm always intrigued by what workouts people do.  I don't know why but it sparks my curiosity.  Like why are they doing that? Are they training for something in particular?  Why are they doing two completely similar or opposite muscle groups?  Are they doing something I need to try?  Maybe it's just the trainer in me, who knows.  ANYWAY it can be hard to concentrate and focus on our own workouts with all these new people around.  Another issue is seeing people you know.  I've been going to a gym here in Lubbock for over 3 years.  It's rare that I enter the gym and don't know at least one person.  this can be an issue for 2 reasons.

1.  I love to talk-  Im known as sort of a chatty person, especially if I haven't seen someone in awhile.  Again huge issue and really messes with our gainz.

2. I don't know how to end the conversation- So we have run out of things to talk about.  How do we end the conversation? see you around? Ill literally see this person for the next hour or so.  I don't operate well in awkward situations and this is a prime example.  Gives me nightmares.

 

GOOD NEWS THOUGH

heres how to avoid every situation we just discussed.

1. take a moderate amount of pre workout that contains beta alanine and caffeine, this will get us amped so that we won't even be able to think about having a coherent conversation.

2. Headphones on, world off- have a solid pair of in ear or over ear headphones, blue tooth preferred.  Personally I like powerbeats wireless.  Crank volume to the max and no one will want to try to talk to us.

3.  LISTEN TO MY PLAYLIST- I generated a spotify playlist that is designed to keep us focused throughout our workout to achieve a killer gym session.  primal gainz guaranteed. ;)
