TIPS TO GET SHREDDED FOR SUMMER
YO YO YO!!
Your fav blogger/trainer/person is here to give you some solid tips on how to reduce that body fat and get some SHREDZ for the summer!
NOTE: These are simply TIPS that have worked for me. It will require work and dedication to succeed.
1. COUNT MACROS/CALORIES- If we are serious about making changes to our bodies, then keeping a general count of our macros and calories will be a huge benefit. Even if it is a loose calculation it will point us in the right direction in terms of us needing to increase or decrease certain macros. Through this process, we can determine how many calories will lead us to a safe deduction amount daily. Through this process, our body fat percent will steadily decrease giving us a leaner physique. Calculate daily caloric intake HERE.
2. DO CARDIO- I know I sound like a broken record, but CARDIO IS IMPORTANT. Cardio is a great way to accurately track calories burned so that we can factor them into our daily intake. REMEMBER, when doing cardio, try to maintain a heart rate of 70-85% of our max. Calculate these figures HERE. Personally, I prefer Stairmaster at varying speeds for a duration of 20-40 minutes either fasted or pre-workout (post workout is fine too).
3. CHANGE YOUR WORKOUT ROUTINE- I know we all go through phases of certain workout routines and splits. I myself like to vary between one muscle group per day, push/pull days, and full body days. For maximum body fat reduction, I would recommend trying more full body workouts filled with supersets. I typically begin with larger muscle groups and taper down to smaller groups. With this the ability to increase heart rate during the workout is much easier and it keeps the workout from being too boring.
4. TIME OUR CARBOHYDRATES- Carbs can be our best friend or our worst enemy if not utilized properly. They can spike the bodies most anabolic hormone and strongest fat storage, insulin. If there are questions on insulin please refer to my blog HERE. I would recommend taking in the majority of our carbs in the morning, midafternoon, pre and post workout to maximize the energy spike. For any questions containing pre or post workout nutrition check out my blogs HERE and HERE.
As I said earlier, these are simply TIPS to reduce body fat percentage and help us get an overall leaner physique. For any more questions feel free to email me or message me!
