Ballin On A Budget

Ballin On A Budget

This post is for the college guys trying to be stylish but don't have a trust fund set up for clothing.  The style and fashion game for guys is changing.  Jeans and a T-shirt will no longer cut it as the only acceptable articles of clothing in a guys closet.  The unfortunate thing is that a complete clothing makeover can cost thousands if one thinks that designer is the only way to go.  HOWEVER, there is a better way.  Here's a list of the places I shop where I can literally spend between $10-$50 per item and still build a staple wardrobe.

HM/Forever 21/ Zara- They have awesome tops, jackets, accessories that will actually fit athletically built guys.  Just go a size up.  I would not recommend getting jeans or joggers there if you have an above average amount of muscle on your legs.  they will basically fit like tights.

Levis- I buy all my jeans from Levi's.  I was blessed with a decent size booty (thanks mom) and fairly built legs.  this is great when I'm in shorts, but not ideal for jeans.  THEN GOD BLESSED US WITH STRETCH DENIM.  Ask and you shall receive right?? stretch denim is amazing.  Fit great in the gluten and quads while still being comfy and looking stylish.  The best part?!?! $50 or less

Converse- A pair of chucks are timeless.  Look great with denim, chinos, and even shorts.  PLUS they make your calves look sick (Bro tip). With Nike's recent purchase of converse I imagine they will continue to get more stylish and comfy with a wider range of color combinations.  Again these are usually under $60, way better than Yeezy's #kanyeisdumb

Express- For those of you that like to dress up and need some suits.  I love express.  They have great colors and most of the time their off the rack sizing has the ability to fit athletically built males.  They have an awesome array of colors.  i personally have a heather grey and black version.  The average cost for the jacket and pants is typically $300-$400.  Much cheaper option compared to other designer brands.  If they don't fit just right there's plenty of tailors that won't charge an arm and a leg for adjustments.

Now that I've explained all my fav spots heres the outfit from the picture.  Please take note that most of it isn't from the stores mentioned above.  Oops.

Leather jacket- Burlington coat factory $60 (GUESS brand)

Sweater- banana republic $50

Jeans- Levis stretch denim khaki $40

Have a great day!
